Welcome Statue of Liberty

Hello to all our family and friends. This site is designed to provide updates about Matt while he's away in Iraq.  Be sure to check out the pictures, his contact information and the blog for any updates on him or stuff he needs!

Matt is currently deployed in in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in Basra, Iraq.
He departed Ft. Bragg with 18th Airborne Corps in February 2008 and is due back sometime around May 2009.
During the 15 month-long tour, he will return for 18 days R&R leave; we are hoping this will be in January 2009.

[Matt's two pence]
Matt is currently embedded with the British Army and is adamantly not: a colonial, part of the commonwealth, or a subject of the Queen.  Matt currently has the Declaration of Independence posted on the wall and has a excel spreadsheet that counts the days until the end of this never-ending monty python skit.
There are also Aussies and Romanians: they're both cool.
